George Kuchel, MD

George Kuchel, MD, FRCP is Professor of Medicine, Director of the University of Connecticut Center on Aging and Chief of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, CT. He also holds the Citicorp Chair in Geriatrics and Gerontology.
Dr. Kuchel obtained his MD CM degree from McGill University, followed by training in Internal Medicine at the Montreal General Hospital and a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Harvard with research training at Harvard, Case Western and Mount Sinai.
Dr. Kuchel’s research program is supported through several NIH grants. It involves multidisciplinary approaches to the study of common geriatrics syndromes and frailty, with a particular emphasis on the role of inflammatory molecules and hormones in the pathogenesis of voiding, mobility and cognitive disorders.
